What I'm trying to say is, when you get older, you'll realised you wasted half of your life making flash that isn't revolutionary. The fact is making a simple flash animation can take up to 3weeks!

For an example, I'm digging down to Flash, learning it because I too want to make my own flash animation. And show the world what I'm capable off and that Proxicide isn't the only beast who could make some insane flash.
But I won't waste 1 month of my life, making a "too be continued" project. I'll dedicate my time to it and make a "full length movie".

In the future, I can look back and say, look at the marvel I've achieved. Not by saying look at all the projects haven't done so far..

Because I know this Makoto vs Sabretooth will end up average like the rest of the flashes you've made. And then you'll start thinking of what other flashes to make.

Xin0 has got a point, It seems like whenever someone says something negative, people automatically take it as a really offensive insult. In "the sprite community" whenever someone mentions proxicide, people are always pissed off for being compared to him. In my opinion, his MKvsSF3 was the best sprite flash i've ever seen, but I know there is a lot more possible. people shouldn't see his work as the pinnacle of sprite flashes, but still, people shouldn't be offended when being compared to him. He basicly raised the bar. Like street fighter / metal gear or other revolutionary games / movies are created, things in the same genre will always be compared. It's only natural for the human brain to make the connection.

as for what azn sk8er said about how people shouldn't critisize unless they can do better... this is just silly. It's like you saying you don't enjoy satanic death metal music, you don't have to do better to think it's of a low quality. You really think movie/game reviewers have ever made movies or games themselves? of course not. they're just commenting on their favourite hobby.

If anybody has a problem with this match-up, then they can take it up with me. I was the one who suggested that Slicing-Claws should replace Twelve with Sabretooth.

Xin0, I find your general attitude and lack of foresight unsettling. While you have some valid points, the way in which you present them is rather wrongheaded.

This match-up presents an opportunity to break from the norm. As I see it, the norm is shoto-style characters playing with fireballs and using cliched' DBZ-esque choreography. Same old, same old.

This match-up CANNOT be the norm. That's why I suggested it. Rather than depending on flashiness and mystic fireball crap, this fight will have to depend on strong, hands-on violence. In my opinion, THAT is the route one must take if one wishes to break from the norm.

Do you not see the potential savagery in this fight? Granted, it is up to Slicing-Claws to do his best with it, but to call this match-up "uninspiring" shows a gross lack of foresight. THIS is exactly what needs to be done within the sprite community- new characters, new attitudes, and new choreographic stylings.

I have tried my best to help break the mold and I have been met with far more success than the average sprite animator can expect. That was not due to performing the "same old, same old". It was due to my desire to make fights like THIS ONE even better than those you would expect to see from the more popular characters.

I find this remark to be rather condescending.

If you want to play the "I'm older, so listen to my wisom" game. Then, so be it. When YOU get older, you might be lucky enough to realize that time spent on creative ventures is no waste. As an adult, I consider myself LUCKY to have the time to have such a hobby. Most of my peers don't.

Slicing-Claws is a teenager. There are far worse things that he could be doing than trying to entertain other people with animations, so cut him some slack.

Even Suroy got that guy's idea for is M2-Surviving with Chun Li vs Reptile.
Proxicide is already good in Photoshop and other softwares. You are good in Flash, then take your flash skill to the next level. Look at Khote, a user dedicated to Proxicide's work. Where is Survivor 2? Just watch when he releases it, it may surpass Proxicide's work.

Having been given a preview of this video, I can guarantee that Slicing will meet the second of these requirements. The first remains to be seen, but Slicing is more than capable of defending himself on that end.

One thing you are missing R1665 is critic and advice.
If you think about my first comment for a time you'll notice I was giving Slicing Claws an advice. First of all, when you make a flash movie, it gets reviewed and whether you like it or not, you must take the critics people make!
Basically I gave a critic to Slicing Claws work: to be continued and average flash movies. If Slicing Claws would take my advice and say "ok then, what do you think I can improve to my flash".
I may not have produce any flash to show my work. But I have observed so many flash movies since I was at school, I've seen what people are lacking, what people are missing, what innovative features people make.

I know you will still find this comment hard to understand about wasting your life making flash movies. But it's not like what you are thinking.

I know what you mean about the same old cliche Shoto fighters. The problem is it never gets old! I too I'm getting tired of them, it's because of the way people produce them. Story is better than fight collabs. I can say Dynasty Warrior is so over used, but people still buy the next game!

I agree, I don't mind shoto stuff if it's done well / originally. It's just that there's so many poorly made sprite flashes on NG with shotos, I've just grown to associate shoto with low quality.

Fighter Factory can be used for stages as well as characters. Throw in a little Photoshop editing and you can make a one-of-a-kind arena that is EXACTLY what you want.
